We are pleased to share that through Rice Marketing's work for GOOD FOOD RETAIL we have contributed evidence to the House of Commons Health and Social Care Committee inquiry into Food and Weight Management.

Collaboration is Critical
In the submission we highlight the critical need for collaboration between policymakers, councils and wholesalers to support independent convenience stores in improving access to, and affordability of, healthier food within the communities they serve - particularly in lower-income areas, where tackling food poverty and obesity is a more complex challenge.
Ensuring Economic Viability
We also emphasise that success depends on a model that is economically viable for retailers. This means truly understanding customer needs, ensuring products are culturally appropriate, and equipping store owners with the right promotional tools so healthier options are visible, appealing and well understood.
Shaping Future Policy
This inquiry represents an important opportunity to help shape future policy, and we’re proud to contribute insights from our work on the ground. The Committee is still taking evidence and is expected to conclude in June, with a report to follow in the months afterwards.
As more information becomes available we will update this page.
